...The Castle of Monterado, located on a hill in the Marche region, dates back to 1267, with foundations that trace back to the medieval past. Important during the Renaissance, the village became part of the Duchy of Urbino and was later under the Della Rovere family. In 1742, the German-Hungarian College of the Jesuits transformed the village, constructing a palace on the ancient defensive walls.
In the 19th century, the castle was acquired by Prince Massimiliano of Beauharnais, who adorned it with 19th-century frescoes by Corrado Corradi. The current architecture, created by Luigi Vanvitelli, preserves the integrity of the original structure and the internal chapel, where weddings are celebrated.
Surrounding the castle is a vast park of seven hectares, planted in 1846 by Count Cerasi with pines, oaks, and an Italian garden rich in roses and Lebanon cedars, creating a perfect environment for walks immersed in nature and history.
