The Biodiversity Forest and Educational Park, located in Castel Colonna within Trecastelli, is a natural space designed to enhance local biodiversity and promote environmental education among residents, schools, and visitors. ...The Biodiversity Forest and Educational Park is located in the heart of Trecastelli, in the Castel Colonna area, along Via Fonte. It is a natural space designed to enhance the territory’s biodiversity and promote environmental education among residents, schools, and visitors.
The park hosts a rich variety of native plant species arranged along a trail meant to foster knowledge of the local natural heritage. The placement of the plants follows ecological and educational criteria, aiming to stimulate discovery, curiosity, and respect for the environment.
Initiated by the City of Trecastelli, the project was also made possible thanks to funding obtained through the ASA Waste Grant, and represents a concrete example of collaboration between institutions, schools, and the community.
The park also features the European Bench, a symbol of inclusion, participation, and unity among the peoples of the European Union.
The Biodiversity Forest was inaugurated on May 10, 2025, with the participation of Professor Francesco Broccolo, who led a guided tour to discover the plant species, along with some students from the Nori De’ Nobili Comprehensive Institute.
The park is open to residents, schools, and visitors of all ages, and is an ideal place for educational activities, outdoor walks, and moments of environmental awareness.
