• The Architecture: This is a splendid 19th-century bourgeois residence, which stands out in the urban fabric for its elegance. Once a private residence, today it is the seat of the town hall but above all of the Museum.
• The Nori De’ Nobili Museum: As mentioned for Trecastelli, this is home to the complete collection of this extraordinary painter. By visiting Ripe, you physically enter his spiritual home. The Villino is also home to the Center for Studies on Women in Contemporary Visual Arts, making Ripe a national reference for women’s art.

2. The Center and Faith: Piazza Leopardi and San Pellegrino The village develops around the central Piazza Leopardi, the classic meeting place of the Italian province where time seems to slow down.

• The Church of San Pellegrino: Overlooking the main street, it is the religious hub. Inside it houses a precious historic organ from the 18th century (the work of the famous Callido, a guarantee of sound quality) and canvases from the Venetian school. San Pellegrino is the patron saint and his feast day (in May) is very heartfelt, with the traditional procession that involves the entire town.
• Urban Planning: Walking through the streets (or “wrinkles”), you will notice the orderly structure of the village, the result of eighteenth-century reconstructions, which gives a sense of great harmony and cleanliness.

3. The Artisan Tradition: The “Country of Crafts” Ripe has a long tradition of “know-how”.

• The Legacy: Historically, Ripe was a center of excellence for woodworkers, ironworkers, and shoemakers. Even though many historic workshops have evolved, this industrious soul is still breathed.
• The Reenactment: In the past, the town hosted events dedicated precisely to the rediscovery of ancient crafts, a legacy that survives today in the care with which the buildings are maintained and in the high quality of the small local businesses.

4. Identitarian Gastronomy: The Homeland of Porchetta If you ask someone from the area what they eat in Ripe, there is only one answer: Porchetta.

• Excellence: Although widespread throughout central Italy, in this specific hilly area pork processing reaches very high peaks. Ripe’s porchetta is known for its clever use of wild fennel and its perfectly crispy rind (“la crocia”).
• Where to find it: You don’t have to go to a restaurant. Look for street vendors’ vans in the square or local butchers who prepare it fresh on the weekend. It is the street food of the Marche par excellence.

• How long does it take: A good hour. Spend 45 minutes at Villino Romualdo (the museum is packed with works) and the rest for a stroll through Piazza Leopardi and a coffee at the central bar to observe local life.
• The Event not to be missed: If you love art, keep an eye on the calendar of temporary exhibitions at Villino Romualdo. They often open exhibitions of international contemporary artists, transforming the small village into a cultural capital for an evening.
• The Panorama: Just outside the center, along the road leading to Corinaldo, stop at the rest areas: the view of the hills sloping down towards Senigallia is one of the most combed and relaxing in the province.
