The ciambellone marchigiano is a typical cake of the Marche, is distinguished from other donuts because it does not have the classic shape with the hole but and a delicious loaf covered with sugar grains, a typical dessert of the peasant tradition, was prepared by housewives to feed the workers who worked in the fields, it is really delicious and perfect to soak in milk!
INGREDIENTS:
450 g Flour 00
2 eggs
150 g. of butter
100 of sugar
50 ml. of milk
1 sachet of vanillin
1 sachet of baking powder
peel of 1 organic lemon
grain of sugar q.b.
nutella q.b.
PROCEDURE:
Work well with electric whisks or a fork in a bowl sugar with cold butter cut into pieces, add the flour, eggs, vanilla and lemon peel, knead well and quickly until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough, Now spread it on a clean worktop dusted with flour and roll it with a rolling pin obtaining a rectangle 1 cm. thick.
Now go to the filling, spread the nutella on the base, taking care to leave the edges free so that you can seal the donut well without spilling the nutella, roll it gently and close all the edges, brush the surface with milk and sprinkle with sugar grains, you can also add toasted almonds or dark chocolate chips, bake on the baking sheet of the oven covered with parchment paper to 180 ³ for about 30 minutes, Once cooked let it cool well on a grate before consuming it, serve sliced and enjoy!
