...Iniziato quasi per scommessa, il Summer Jamboree è diventato, nel giro di pochissimo, una delle manifestazioni più importanti, a livello mondiale, dedicate alla musica e alla cultura americane degli anni ’40 e ’50.
Migliaia di appassionati e semplici curiosi si sono riversati negli anni a Senigallia per assistere a concerti con veri mostri sacri del Rock’n’Roll; sui palchi si sono alternati, tra gli altri, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Ben E. King e gli Stray Cats, senza dimenticare lo spettacolo del Burlesque, che ha visto anche la divina Dita Von Teese protagonista di una sensuale esibizione.
In tutte le edizioni, il “Summer Jamboree" fa salire la febbre degli appassionati, con un entusiasmo ogni anno crescente e grandi aspettative per l’uscita del programma ufficiale: lezioni di ballo e concerti scatenati sono previsti in ogni angolo della città, dal centro storico al lungomare, da piazza del Duca alla Rotonda a Mare.
Feste in spiaggia, corone di fiori e vestiti hawaiani fanno da splendida cornice a questa colorata manifestazione che ogni anno attira appassionati da oltreoceano e da ogni parte d’Europa. La città si veste di rock and roll e partecipa entusiasta alle serate in programma, scaldando le gambe, oliando le ginocchia, cercando oggetti da collezione nel mercatino vintage o sfoggiando un’acconciatura a tema.
A not to be missed appointment is “Summer Jamboree”, the long-awaited international festival that every year plunges the city of Senigallia back into the magic atmosphere of American life in the 1940s and 1950s: concerts, parties, swing and rock&roll music and dance pull crowds of enthusiastic fans from all over the world to the Velvet Beach.
It started almost as a bet and it has rapidly become one of the most important events in the world dedicated to the American music and culture from the 1940s and 1950s.
Thousands of enthusiastic fans and curious people have gathered in Senigallia over the years to attend concerts with Rock’n’Roll mythical figures. Amongst others, the stage has welcomed Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Ben E. King and the Stray Cats, without forgetting the Burlesque shows, starring divine Dita Von Teese.
Every summer, amongst increasing enthusiasm and great expectations, the “Summer Jamboree” keeps fans in great suspense before the official program is published: dance classes and hot concerts take place in every corner and square of the city, from the historical centre to the seafront, from piazza del Duca to Rotonda a Mare.
Beach parties, flower crowns, and Hawaiian clothes create the spectacular setting for this coloured event, which attracts passionate fans from overseas and Europe. Senigallia turns into a rock’n’roll town and participates with joy in all festival events, warming up legs and joints before dancing, looking for collection items in vintage markets or parading rock’n’roll hair styles and cars.
