Through chamber music repertoire, the dialectical relationship between instruments is deepened; the sense of community that is the lifeblood of every orchestra is developed and refined. With this awareness, at the invitation of Maestro Riccardo Muti and at the request of the musicians, the chamber groups of the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra flourished.
Cherubini’s cello quartet in particular has just returned to Italy after an intense tour that saw them travel across the United States, from coast to coast. From the Weasler Auditorium at Marquette University in Milwaukee to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to the prestigious Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago. After two stops in the Midwest –Minneapolis and Madison– he reached the West Coast, with the concert at The Ebell in Los Angeles. A tour that concluded in another iconic city in the United States, guests of the Italian Cultural Institute in New York.
This further confirms the international reach of an orchestra that, under the guidance of its founder, Maestro Riccardo Muti, has made the training of young musicians and the promotion of Italian music around the world cornerstones of its mission.
