...The Roman origins of the city are documented by the Monument to the Name and Coat of Arms of Ostra, consisting of a granite column from ancient Ostra, which stood in the valley of the Misa River and was destroyed by the Visigoths in 410 AD. In the locality called “Le Muracce”, 9 km away from today’s Ostra, interesting archaeological remains of that ancient settlement are still visible.
